Tongue Twister

Tongue Twister does what it says. Land your dart here and you owe the table "red lorry, yellow lorry," three times, at speed, with no mumbling your way through it. Fluff a syllable and the drink's yours.

At a real table this is the wedge where everyone suddenly turns into a judge. The thrower fires it off convinced they nailed it clean, while the rest of the room replays it in their head arguing over whether "yellow lolly" counts as a fumble. It's rarely one attempt — there's usually a hopeful second go, and a third that only makes the case against you stronger.

The honest tactic is to ignore the urge to go for broke on the first word. "Fast" is the rule, but most people fail by rushing the start rather than the finish — say it at the quickest pace you can actually hold together, not the quickest pace that sounds good in your head. And don't self-mark it. Let the table decide if you slipped; nobody's tongue is a reliable witness in its own trial.

It lives out in the 3rd Circle, a ring in from the board's edge, so it won't come round every game. But land here a few drinks deep and "red lorry, yellow lorry" gets a lot harder than it looked sober.
